Two Years of Excellence at the Mellon

For nearly a century, the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium has been one of Washington D.C.'s most distinguished venues for culture, policy, and celebration. Over the past two years, the Mellon has entered a new era under the management of Ridgewells Catering, hosting an extraordinary lineup of events that honor both its grandeur and its modern versatility.

Our mission was clear from the beginning: elevate the client and guest experience and preserve the venue's rich heritage. Two years in, the Mellon stands stronger than ever as a destination for iconic events. With a legacy rooted in history and a vision aimed toward the future, Ridgewells continues to focus on the art of entertaining at the highest level. From world summits to once-in-a-lifetime galas, we're proud to be the team behind Washington's most extraordinary moments. As we look forward to many more evenings of excellence, we look back on some recent highlights at the iconic venue.

1. NATO 75th Anniversary Summit

   In July 2024, the Mellon took center stage for the NATO 75th Anniversary Summit, welcoming world leaders to a venue that symbolizes unity and strength. Its timeless architecture and stately halls provided a powerful backdrop for this milestone in international diplomacy.

2. Erin Go Glam

   Washington D.C.'s favorite Irish-themed gala brought a burst of energy to the Mellon for two years running. In 2024, we celebrated the grand re-opening of the venue with Ridgewells Catering and Design Foundry where they leaned into all things bold, gold, and gilded glamour.

   In 2025, they wanted to show just how versatile the space was and completely transformed the Main Auditorium into a dark, moody, and otherworldly experience.

3. Inaugural Balls

   Southern hospitality met Washington grandeur as the North Carolina State Society brought warmth, tradition, and elegance to the Mellon. The same week, we embraced innovative and bold design choices for the Crypto Inaugural Ball.

4. High-impact Innovation Summits

   We've converted the Mellon into a hub for policymakers, technologists, and thought leaders at events such as Axios AI+ DC Summit, the Kharon Global Summit, and Exchange24.
   

   

   

   

   

   

   

5. Galas and Fundraisers

   We've hosted galas for 500+ guests at events such as Hyundai Hope on Wheels Gala, SHRM Tharseo Awards, and the Children's National Hospital annual fundraiser.
   

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

6. Iconic Cultural Events

   Fashion took center stage as international designers showcased heritage-inspired couture pieces on a catwalk in the Main Auditorium. The Global Couture Gala fused haute couture with global storytelling, and proved the Mellon is a perfect canvas for creativity.
   

   

   

   

   

   Earlier this year, dozens of Embassy Chefs shared their culture through cuisine and competed in one of D.C.'s most beloved culinary showcases.
   

   

   

   

   

   We also celebrated Diwali with the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum by transforming the Main Auditorium into a modern-day marketplace featuring local artisans. The evening brought together senior leaders from business and government for a memorable night celebrating and honoring culture, collaboration, and community.
   

   

   

   

   

   

   

7. Luxury Weddings
